In todays dimension of globalism, the approach taken by Obusinga bwa Rwenzururu is in no way different from that of the business environement as they come to compete in the traditional commercial markets. To succed, we need to be as good as traditional businesses and where we can even better. Our aim is to generate revenue for sustainability without having necessarily to rely on grants to achieve our social and economic aims.
Objectives
Our objective is to deliver social benefits to the community where traditional commercial organisations are not able to survive.
Aims
To provide innovative entrepreneurial solutions to ensure services are delivered. To prove a social benefit through intellectual stimulation.
The Rwenzori region is blessed with vast terrain and a natural habitat which has brought many people to dwell in the Rwenzori area from vast backgrounds and cultures. This however poses a great challange to the promotion and preservation of our culture while the topography makes it hard for all to access health services from the existing meager health care facilities.
We seek to meet these challenges by adjusting to social and cultural diversity of the region and the burden of the diseases we are faced with such as HIV/AIDS, malnutrition, and other communicable diseases which are often a result of economic disadvantage. We aim at promoting health and developing programmes geared at protecting and sensitising the community. Our health programs are focused mainly on health preservation and promotion which will be done with the active involvment of volunteers and support groups.
The health and well-being of our community is dependant on the scope and range of our cultural activities. A healthy community is one that is active culturally.
Education spans more than the formal accademic teaching and learning, it encompasses the formal and informal training as well. Whereas the formal sector teaches and trainins individuals accademically, we hope to mainitain our cultural values and pass these on to the generations that are to come after us. These values, customs and norms as we known them have made us what we are and are pased down from our ancestors from one generation to the next.
Culture is more than language and sayings, culture is part of you and makes you who you are.
It is important to pass on this through informal traning while yet also embrasing the changes int eh world around us. This we intend to do through socail groups, plays, music dance and drama mixing the learning with a bit of humor and entertainment to captivate the audience.
Our history defines who we are, who we are defines who our children will be.
Lets educate tomorrows leaders today!
